San Joaquin River Tributaries Settlement Process Technical Support
cbec provided technical support to the San Joaquin Technical Group by conducting data acquisition and analysis related to hydrology, hydraulics, salmonid habitat assessment and restoration opportunities along the Stanislaus and Tuolumne Rivers.
cbec first obtained the best available hydraulic models, topographic data and flow records. Next, cbec analyzed the flow records and determined index flows which were used in reviewing existing hydraulic models and identifying the most representative results files. Using the existing hydraulic model results files and topographic data, cbec conducted spatial analyses to identify potential floodplain restoration opportunities along the Stanislaus and Tuolumne Rivers below New Melones and Dan Pedro reservoirs. Finally, cbec developed evaluation metrics for potential restoration sites with respect to grading footprints, depths and volumes required to generate potential habitat features.
