Anna Hamilton MSc
Ecohydrologist I
As an ecohydrologist at cbec, Anna performs both technical project analysis and field work in support of various hydrological and geomorphological studies. Anna’s software experience consists of ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, Delft3DFM, and MATLAB; with field experience in topographic surveying, and gage deployment and monitoring. Anna joined cbec after completing her master’s degree in Geography and Geoinformatics with a focus in Coastal Science at the University of Copenhagen. Her graduate research project brought her to USGS Santa Cruz, where she investigated the sensitivity of a Delft3D FM hydrodynamic model of the nearshore region of Unalakleet, and greater Norton Sound in Alaska. This project helped improve understanding of the data requirements needed to support future storm surge models for the region. During her master’s studies, Anna sharpened her geographic information system (GIS) skillset at the San Francisco Estuary Institute (SFEI), by utilizing drone imagery, point cloud, and elevation data to monitor restoration sites. Anna earned her bachelor’s degree in Physical Geography and Ecosystem Analysis at Lund University in Sweden. It was there she was inspired to deepen her knowledge on coastal science topics, including geomorphology, coastal hazards, and restoration. In her free time, Anna loves being outdoors and spends her time hiking, golfing, surfing, and camping.
