Senior Ecoengineer I
Mr. Taber is a registered PE with over eleven years of experience specializing in ecohydraulics and ecohydrology. He acts as both a staff ecoengineer as well as field services technical lead for projects related to habitat enhancement, floodplain management, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, tidal and estuarine ecosystems, surface and ground water quality and aquatic infrastructure.
Mr. Taber is an expert CAD and GIS user and has extensive experience in mapping, design, and drafting. Much of his work includes open channel hydraulic modeling (1- and 2-D) to inform design or analysis of habitat and floodplain elements. Additionally, Mr. Taber is well versed in construction related projects by working closely with stakeholders and contractors to provide professional oversight during active construction to ensure proper interpretation of design intent. Mr. Taber has been involved with numerous projects from start to finish which include; existing conditions data collection, 3-dimensional surfacing, hydraulic modeling, design, drafting, construction documentation and specifications, bid support, construction staking, construction oversight, as-built surveying and project reporting.
His role as cbec’s field services technical lead provides the basis for quality projects by utilizing cutting edge methods and technology to effectively collect quality data. His expertise includes many aspects of field data collection including: topographic surveying, bathymetric surveying, sediment sampling, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) data collection (including elevation data through structure from motion), Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) data collection, water quality sensing and hydrography including; stream gaging, depth and temperature sensing, and Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) data collection for velocity and flow.
