Guy McFeeters-Krone BS

Technician II

Guy supports a variety of river rehabilitation and salmonid habitat restoration projects as a technician at cbec. His educational background focuses on hydrology, hydraulics, and river/riparian ecology. Guy’s experience includes modeling the effects of wildfires on a western Oregon watershed using HEC-HMS; analyzing and modeling ecological processes with Python and R; and determining the effects of the Klamath Dam Removal Project using HEC-RAS. He is also proficient in Autodesk Civil 3D, and ArcGIS for both civil and environmental applications. While earning his Bachelor of Science in Ecological Engineering from Oregon State University (OSU), Guy served as a test engineer for OSU’s Openly Published Environmental Sensing (OPEnS) lab. There, Guy analyzed cross contamination in a PolyWAG eDNA sampler designed for remote salmon run data collection, which not only worked towards OPEnS’ goal of developing environmental sensing projects and research, but also inspired him to focus on water resources restoration engineering. Later, post-graduation at an agrivoltaics startup, he honed his Python scripting skills with the development of retrospective water savings analysis that assessed potential benefits for salmon runs. At this time, Guy also sharpened his public outreach and facilitation foundation through stakeholder interviews and literature review. Outside of work, Guy enjoys rock climbing, biking, reading, and gardening.
