Nathan’s diverse background includes three years of geotechnical consulting and a stint in Europe where he obtained an M.S. in Sedimentology from the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. It was in the Netherlands that Nathan became well versed in physical and numerical modeling using programs such as SOBEK and Delft-3D. For his thesis Nathan constructed and ran a physical model to study the effects of varying initial sediment concentration on the internal structure of turbidity currents. Nathan also has experience in ArcGIS, TUFLOW and HEC-RAS, as well as various technical instruments and field data collection techniques. Nathan is excited to be back in the US as a member of the cbec team.
