Travis Beckt BS

Technician II

As a technician at cbec headquarters in West Sacramento, Travis supports a variety of river rehabilitation and salmonid habitat restoration projects. Travis’ education background centers around hydrology, hydraulics, and river and riparian ecology. His educational experience includes modeling the effects of agricultural expansion on a western Oregon watershed using HEC-HMS, using Python and R to analyze and model ecological processes, and HEC-RAS to determine if local culverts follow fish passage requirements. Travis is also adept with AutoCAD, Civil3D, and ArcGIS in both civil and environmental applications. Before graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Ecological Engineering from Oregon State University (OSU) in 2022, he was an undergraduate research assistant facilitating the development of weather station calibrators supporting the Trans-African Hydro-Meteorological Observatory. This work helped to advance a vast network of reliable weather stations across Africa, while increasing agricultural productivity in the vicinity. It was through this work that Travis discovered his passion for sustainable water resources management, cultivating a deep interest in hydrology and ecology. As a lifelong steward of the outdoors, Travis is passionate about preserving both the environmental integrity, function, and beauty of the American West for generations to come.
