We recently revisited a favorite site of ours and captured some interesting aerial photos. Dr. Chris Bowles, Chris Campbell, and John Stofleth worked on the Bear River Levee Setback Project constructed in 2006. 12 years on and the riparian forest is thriving. These staff were integral to the original design of the setback project and responsible for geomorphic assessments, design and monitoring. cbec updated monitoring in 2016 for a study related to the impacts of vegetation on hydraulic flow. This included estimating the density of vegetative cover and sedimentation accretion rates since 2006, using sedimentation plates installed just after construction.
