Check out this drone flyover In December 2018 at Nimbus Basin, one of the many salmonid habitat improvement and enhancement projects cbec has designed on the Lower American River. cbec designed the side channel complex and used the excavated gravels to augment a spawning riffle in the main channel. Historically, large numbers of fall run Chinook Salmon and Steelhead made it past the weir directing fish into the Nimbus Fish Hatchery, where they ultimately perished without spawning, due to lack of suitable gravel. Since the project’s construction in 2014, thousands of viable redds have been observed in Nimbus Basin. Video credit: John Hannon #cbecNimbus
